Welcome to Therapie Amsterdam Noord, a practice for adults. Maybe this is the time to do something about what’s been bothering you for a long time or about something you would like to change. The reason why someone chooses for online- and/or in-person sessions is divers. A reason to make an appointment can be

  • not feeling fully present
  • hearing voices
  • sensitivity to psychosis
  • synesthesia

The first appointment is an intake session: a full session during which, depending on the support needs, directly applicable tools may be offered. This introductory meeting, as well as subsequent sessions, provides an opportunity to jointly explore what is helpful and whether the support provided by this practice aligns with the needs. The number of follow-up sessions and evaluation moments will be determined in consultation (see also the general terms and conditions). Follow-up sessions are goal-oriented, tailored to the support needs and desired outcomes, and make use of one or a combination of methods, such as:

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
  • Regression therapy
  • Somatic psychotherapy
  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
  • FT (Flash Technique)
  • Brainspotting
  • (Family)constellations
  • Hypnotherapy
  • IFS (Internal Family System)
  • Parts work
  • Voice dialogue
  • PVT (Polyvagal Theory)
  • Breath techniques
  • Trauma and tension release exercises
  • Film-, writing-, music exercises
  • MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy)
  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
  • ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention) therapy

Psychotherapeutic treatment can be either short-term or long-term. The duration depends on the specific needs, the desired situation, and the nature of the concerns. The frequency of sessions varies from person to person, but especially in the early stages, it is desirable to schedule weekly or bi-weekly sessions. This supports the progress of therapy and ensures that insights continue to evolve under the guidance of the sessions. Please refer to additional information.
